At this time, The Modern Hive is fully staffed and not accepting interns for the current year. Our internship program is intentionally small to ensure meaningful, hands-on learning and mentorship, and we are currently at capacity.

We truly appreciate the interest in our studio and encourage prospective applicants to check back in the future as opportunities evolve!

When we do reopen internship opportunities, the most competitive candidates typically:

  • Include a curated portfolio (academic or personal projects are welcome) that clearly shows your design thinking, not just finished spaces

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of our studio’s aesthetic and process

  • Show attention to detail in formatting, spelling, and presentation

  • Highlight technical skills (CAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe, etc.)

  • Share a brief, thoughtful note on why you’re drawn to interior design—and to our firm specifically

We value intentionality, curiosity, and a clear point of view just as much as technical skill.
