With great bones and an open layout, this early 2000s home had plenty of potential—but the dated finishes and oversized spaces made it feel cold and disconnected. Our client came to us seeking a serene, chic update that could brighten the home while honoring its scale. Through strategic spatial planning, custom finishes, and a cohesive material palette, we transformed key areas including the living room, powder bath, entry foyer, and mudroom—delivering a fresh and inviting feel rooted in timeless sophistication.
We addressed the oversized space by centering a 14' custom sectional on the fireplace and grounding the seating zone with large-scale rugs and a symmetrical layout—resulting in better balance and cozy functionality.
Throughout the home, we introduced soft greys, warm golds, and rich jewel-toned accents against a backdrop of white oak floors and marble finishes—bringing a light, luxurious feel without sacrificing depth.
Simple yet impactful changes like painted cabinetry, a new backsplash, and wallpaper turned the mudroom into a refined everyday space. The entry was reimagined with updated lighting, custom upholstery, and a new 8' runner to welcome guests in style.
To manage scope and budget, we retained much of the existing cabinetry in the mudroom—refreshing it through paint, hardware, and new materials that delivered a completely updated look without major renovation.
The original layout lacked cohesion and made the room feel cavernous. Our solution: reconfigure furniture placement and scale up key pieces to create a unified, comfortable conversation zone.
